SRT was founded
in 1984 to do R&D for the DOD in halogen-based solar energy conversion,
energy storage and rocket propulsion under the auspices of the DOD’s “Star
Wars” program.
In 1995, SRT
began investigating halogen-based processes for hydrogen production and
energy storage in partnership with the DOE. In 2000 the DOE began supporting
SRT’s research in halogen-based emission control.
